OUR SERVICES

Charter or cargo disputes, or foreign awards for recognition and enforcement in China

We help organise evidence and procedure for cargo, B/L, and charter disputes; explain arbitration clauses and venues; and outline recognition/enforcement steps and exhibit lists for foreign awards in China.

For B/L, charter, or cargo-damage liability needing China-side evidence work or procedure, provide the dispute clause and materials you already hold.

If you hold a foreign commercial award and seek recognition/enforcement against a respondent with China domicile or assets — check agreement formality, translation/authentication, and court nexus.

Recognition and enforcement turn on statutory grounds and court review. We do not promise the result.

Hypothetical: Singapore party with a foreign charter award maps China enforcement

Scenario & challenge:Story setup: A Singapore-linked party holds a foreign commercial award from a charter dispute and hears the respondent has China business ties. Missing on the table: full award and agreement texts, translation/authentication plan, intermediate-court nexus analysis, and a preview of procedural objections. Management’s first question is usually “can we collect” — statutory review grounds need explaining before any promise. Possible approach:Illustrative moves: Convention-aligned exhibit list; agreement formality check; domicile/asset/place-of-business nexus; recognise-then-enforce structure; outline replies to procedural defences. Recognition depends on statute and court review — this story does not preset the ruling.

FAQ

Questions, answered

General information to help you prepare for a conversation. Individual advice depends on the facts.

Can a foreign arbitral award be recognised and enforced in China?

China is a New York Convention party. You usually apply to a competent court for recognition, then enforcement, subject to statutory grounds and judicial review. Support is case-specific; we do not promise results.

Do you guarantee we get our money back or win?

No. We explain options, main risks, and how fees are structured. Formal work is accepted and billed only through the firm.

Can a foreign company hire Chinese counsel for a supplier who will not ship?

Yes. A PRC law firm can handle China-side demand letters, talks, mediation, arbitration, or court work. Which path fits depends on your contract, your evidence, and where the other side sits. Send a short case summary first. Site text is not legal advice; a form submit is not an engagement.

What languages can we use?

The site has 11 UI languages. Working languages for your matter depend on assigned counsel [pending confirmation]. You can write your case summary in English or Chinese.
